With Summer coming to an end, all college students are ready to return to their lives on campus. However, one thing stands between them and getting in the car...PACKING! The limited storage in almost all dorm rooms is a disadvantage, especially for fashion lovers. Here is a list to help you maximize your space while still having all of the necessities!
Tops
T-shirts-Being a sporty girl, I brought way to many t-shirts to college for my first year. They are definitely important for the gym, which is a must go especially to keep off that freshman 15! Keep in mind how many times you’ll go to the gym a week, if you’ll wear them to class, and what you need for game day or just to get comfy after a long day of classes! Personal Max Count-10
Sweatshirts
1. School Logo
2. Patagonia
Casual Shirts- These types of shirts are key for classes and everyday use. V-Necks, flowy cotton tops, and comfy tees that are easy to throw on for 8ams definitely help you look cute in a matter of no time.
1. V-Neck
2. Striped Tee
3. FP Tank Top
4. Pocket Tee
5. Graphic Tee
Going out Clothes- After a stressful week of classes, homework, and tests, everyone looks forward to the weekend! The anticipation of picking out a cute outfit and spicing up your look for the night with your friends finally arrives. As a new freshman clothes at college parties might be a bit different than what you saw at a high school party so here’s my list to help you!
Tops
2. FP Tank
4. Body Suit
Skirts
3. Jean Skirt
In addition, I'd add a few long sleeve tops, crop tops if you're a fan, and a "frat jacket" (an old sweatshirt that if it got lost, you wouldn't mind).

Shoes- All girls love shoes. They're easy to try on and buy! At school you will need a few pairs of solid shoes. All year round you will see the classic white Converse Chucks. I'm guilty of owning a pair as well and wouldn't have been able to survive college without them. They are the perfect shoe to throw on for classes, daylongs, game-day, and for a party. Just try not to step in the mud or you can follow these directions to wash them! Other must haves are:
1. Sneakers
2. Shower shoes (cheap pair of flip flops)
3. Flip-flops
5. Riding boots
7. Bean Boots
8. Rain Boots
11.Jeff's (popular at my school, however not a Jeff owner)
12.High heels
13.Wedges
Dresses
Dresses can be used for many occasions throughout the school year. Whether your involved with athletics, a sorority, or any club, you will probably wear a dress for events! Formals, parties, and chapter meetings are just a few times you can sport one of your favorites. I would definitely include one white dress, a few casual ones, two party dresses for formals, and a little black dress
.
Pants- Depending where you go to school, good warm pants can definitely help in the winter months. I’m a huge fan of regular jeans so I brought three pairs with me, as well as a bunch of leggings. You should also invest in black jeans/pants, white jeans, and one pair of nice black or navy pants for projects or interviews on campus!
Shorts- Once spring time rolls around you"ll be able to wear bright colors after the long dreaded winter. Thankfully shorts don't take up much room so you have flexibility with the amount! I would bring classic chinos, jean shorts, flowy shorts, and running shorts! Here are a list of my favorites:
2. Jean Shorts
3. Lilly Shorts
4. AEO Shorts
6. Nike Shorts
Jewelry- At home I love to wear loads of jewelry, however in college sometimes it's just not conducive to do so. I would definitely bring a bunch of studs, dangling earrings for dressier occasions, a few bracelets, and necklaces, but don't go overboard. Keep in mind to have a separate compartment for your jewelry in a locked drawer so guests in your room don't have access to it. I brought an organizer and used old jewelry boxes/bags to store them in the container for privacy!
